You can get involved by donating a bike or contributing financially. During our season each autumn, we’re always looking for volunteers. Donate a bike, time, or money and help kids ‘go places’!
Donate a Bike
We’re done collecting bikes for 2023, but we’ll be at it again in the early fall of 2024! If you have gently used bikes that you’d like to donate before then, please consider Back Alley Bikes, a community bike shop in Detroit that operates year-round. However, if you can hang on to your used bike until next fall we’ll be collecting bikes in late September or early October at donation locations TBD around metro Detroit . Thank you for your support of Free Bikes 4 Kidz and for helping a child to get started on a happier, healthier life!
Donate Financially
Your donations will help us get more kids back on bikes. We can get a child on a bike with a new helmet for less than $30!!!

Tax Deductions
All items donated to Free Bikes 4 Kidz – Detroit are deductible for income tax purposes at their present fair market value. Internal Revenue Code places the responsibility for estimating the fair market value upon the donor rather than the agency receiving the gift. (Local office of the Internal Revenue advises that “Fair Market Value” is interpreted as that which a buyer is willing to pay and a seller is willing to accept.)
