Thanks to our sponsors and supporters and especially to the generous donors of hundreds of used bikes over the last 3 weeks, Free Bikes 4 Kidz Detroit is nearing its goal of collecting 1,000 bikes to refurbish and give away to kids in Detroit this Christmas!!! We have collected over 900 bikes and have more coming in this week from the Allen Park Police Department and expect to reach our goal sometime this week! We couldn’t have done it without the support of the biking community in our city and the generous groups that have taken the time and effort to publicize our effort along the way – thank you to all who have helped, especially Henry Ford Health System, HAP, Dean Sellers Ford, Holy Spokes in Lake Orion, and the Detroit Bike Clubs, particularly the Lane Bangerz, D-Town Riders, Truth Riders, Detroit Diva Riders, Knight Riders and Detroit Roll Out Crew and all the individuals who spread the word about our effort and need for bikes.
